Practical guides
A website or a Telegram bot: which should you build?
The choice depends on where customers discover you and what happens next. A website explains an offer; a bot can support repeatable journeys inside Telegram.
Start with a website when discovery matters
A website provides public service descriptions, prices, work examples and terms, with separate links for topics and languages. People can read it without a Telegram account, and indexed pages can appear in search.
A launch does not guarantee traffic. Useful content, technical access, measurement and appropriate visitor sources still matter.
Use a bot for an ongoing journey
A bot can guide people already using Telegram through questions, materials, return visits and notifications. A more complex interface may require a Mini App, which is a separate development scope.
A bot depends on its platform and does not replace every public service page. Plan errors, user support, data handling and administrator access. Agree on integrations and payment flows for the specific journey.
Use both when their roles are distinct
In the psychology practice project, the website introduces the approach and next step. The separate MindType product continues the journey in Telegram and a Mini App. These are connected parts with different responsibilities.
Explain that a button opens Telegram, what visitors will receive and how they can contact a person directly. A general enquiry should not require completing a quiz first.
Choose a small first release
- Explain an unfamiliar offer: begin with a website and a simple contact route.
- Serve an existing Telegram audience with repeat actions: consider a bot.
- Combine search discovery and follow-up: give the website and bot separate roles.
- Unsure about a complex interface: map one complete customer journey first.
Agree on the budget and checks
Journeys, roles, integrations, payments and content management determine the scope. A landing page and a bot are different products, not interchangeable price options. Mini Apps, CRM and AI are included only when explicitly agreed. See pricing and deliverables.
Test the whole route: the website link, opening Telegram, the first message, receiving content and asking for help. Include failures and repeat visits. A Telegram link click is not proof of a started conversation or a sale; measure these stages separately.
Use the website brief checklist to describe the audience, main action and follow-up before discussing technology.
